What Should I wear?
We’d love to have you join us at church. The Lord cares far more about your relationship with Him than about what you wear.
Many people choose business casual—some ladies wear a dress or a skirt with a blouse, and some men wear a button-up shirt with dress slacks or khakis. Others come in a polo or even a T-shirt and jeans.
Whatever you feel comfortable wearing is perfectly fine. You’ll be warmly welcomed, and we’d be glad to have you with us.
We do like to mention—just to be clear—that we ask everyone to dress in a way that’s appropriate for a family-friendly environment. Thank you for helping us maintain a welcoming and respectful atmosphere for all.
We are so glad you want to visit City of Refuge! We truly cannot wait to meet you.
What can I expect?
From the moment you arrive, we pray you feel loved and welcomed. We currently meet at a local school—yes, it may feel a little unconventional, but then again, so was Jesus.
You’ll be greeted by friendly faces at the door who are happy to help you find your way, including where to check in your children if you have any with you. Be sure to stop by our Welcome Center as well—we have a small gift waiting for all of our first-time guests.
Our service is about an hour long. We begin with a time of praise and worship, after which parents will have the opportunity to bring their children to the Kids Worship Center. Once you return, Pastor Joe will share a message from God’s Word.
At the end of the service, you can pick up your children from the Kids area. On your way out, if you haven’t already, be sure to stop by the Welcome Center to receive your free gift—and don’t forget to say hello to Pastor Joe. He’s looking forward to meeting you!
What about my kids?
We love kids! At City of Refuge, children aren’t just welcome—they’re truly wanted. We believe kids are a blessing and that they’re not only the future of the church, but an important part of the church right now.
Your children will enjoy our Kids Worship Service, where they’ll learn about God’s Word in a fun, age-appropriate way. Each service includes crafts, music, games, and engaging activities designed to help them grow in their faith while having a great time.
You can also feel confident that your children are in safe hands. Every children’s volunteer is carefully screened, background checked, and approved by church leadership to ensure a safe and caring environment.
